How do I choose a plastic surgeon?

Is Dr. David Rankin an ASPS Member Surgeon?
Yes. Dr. Rankin has met all of the requirements necessary to become an ASPS Member Surgeon.
What is the difference between a plastic surgeon who is certified by the ASPS and one who is not?
In addition to adhering to a strict ethical code, an ASPS Member Surgeon must have completed a minimum of five years of surgical training and at least two years of plastic surgery residency training after graduating from medical school. He or she must also be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, having passed the board's rigorous examinations. In addition to performing surgery only in accredited surgical facilities, an ASPS Member Surgeon must also fulfill continuing medical education requirements, which include advanced studies and training in patient safety techniques.
Am I a good candidate for plastic surgery?
